Founded in 2003 by Dr. Stelios Platis as S.Platis Economic Research, the EU operations of Complyport formerly known as MAP S.Platis, began as a specialised economic research and financial services training centre. By 2006, the firm had already produced a significant number of seminal studies on home price indices, macroeconomic forecasts, financial regulation, and risk analyses for infrastructure projects.
In 2007, with the implementation of MiFID in Cyprus, the firm established the first specialised team of financial regulation experts in the region. In 2008, based on deep, well-substantiated research and the efforts of its founder, the firm successfully advocated for CySEC to include retail Forex as a regulated financial product, making Cyprus the second EU Member State to do so in Europe, following the Financial Services Authority of the UK. As a result, to date, we have consulted over 60% of all FX Brokers in Cyprus licensed under MiFID.
Today, we continue to build on this legacy as a trusted, innovative, and highly professional provider of advisory, training, and research services to the global financial services sector.
